Position Summary:
The Parts Manager reports to the Director of Maintenance and is responsible for maintaining the companies inventory of parts, ordering parts, receiving parts, reviewing invoices for payment, tracking parts usage, controlling inventory, establishing and updating par levels, identifying necessary spare parts on hand, and other tasks related to parts. Must bring experience with Maximo or related systems and be able to maintain accurate inventories within specified systems. Maintains a work station in the maintenance building and functions throughout the companies plants.
Essential Job Functions:
- Orders parts to facilitate equipment and facilities maintenance.
- Receives parts upon delivery and reviews invoices for payment, or supervises aforesaid.
- Controls inventory, manages cycle counts, and tracks parts usage, or supervises said activities.
- Establishes and updates par levels of frequently used parts.
- Maintains supply relationships with OEMs, approved vendors, and custom suppliers as appropriate.
- Picks up parts locally when necessary or supervises these activities.
- Ensures compliance with all safety requirements and builds a strong safety culture.
- Understands, develops, and complies with expense and efficiency expectations.
- Uses Maximo software or similar system.
- Helps lead the maintenance crew alongside Crew Leader.
- Conducts ongoing training with maintenance employees (parts usage, ordering, locations, etc.)
- Ensures that parts are used in accordance with department requirements.
- Cultivates positive relationships with production workers, plant leaders, and outside partners.
- Takes an active approach to work safe and meet safety goals established by the company.
- Maintain control and management of the tool crib ensuring that the specialty tools needed to complete jobs are returned in working order
Essential Job Requirements:
- Must be able to work established hours with some flexibility to include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience with Maximo or similar parts inventory systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license
- Professional communications skills are essential
- Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
Education:
- Minimum high school diploma required. Additional post-secondary education and/or technical training preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk throughout plants for the majority of the work day.
- Lift and move parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Occasionally operate machinery.
