General Manager at Tacodeli
Reporting directly to the District Manager, the General Manager is the heartbeat of our restaurant operations. You set the tone, leading with energy, positivity, and a love for tacos that’s contagious. In this role, you’ll ensure that every guest walks out with a smile (and possibly a little salsa on their shirt) while maintaining food quality and hospitality. More than leading a restaurant, you’ll be building a culture—one that’s fun, inclusive, and true to our values. We’re looking for an experienced leader who thrives on details, loves coaching high-performing teams, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to make magic happen.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grow leaders. Develop Kitchen Manager, AGM, Hospitality & Culinary Leads, into confident shift leaders who make every guest want to return.
Work hands-on. Jump in, identify priorities, and delegate with purpose—playing to your team’s strengths and putting the right people in the right spots at the right time.
Fuel growth. Delegate tasks that stretch and grow your team’s skills.
Build the dream team. Learn to interview, hire, and retain top talent that embodies Tacodeli culture.
Coach with care. Partner with HR and your DM to master performance management, progressive discipline, and values-driven conversations that are clear, kind, and effective.
Plan smart. Create thoughtful schedules that balance business needs with team well-being.
Communicate boldly. Celebrate wins, have crucial conversations, and keep the vibe positive and transparent.
Be the standard. Model genuine hospitality and coach your team to deliver it—every guest, every time.
Keep it safe & delicious. Ensure food safety and quality standards are second nature for the team, working side-by-side with the Kitchen Manager to make sure every taco is Tacodeli-perfect.
Know your numbers. Understand financial reports, use tracking tools, and take ownership when targets aren’t met—building actionable, smart plans to get back on track.
Lead excellence. Communicate clear expectations and hold your team accountable for operational greatness: food quality, consistency, speed, cleanliness, and service.
Build culture. Recognize achievements, encourage collaboration, and keep communication flowing to create a strong, connected team.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Expected to work all shifts in the week, including nights and weekends, we close at 9pm.
- Experience hiring, developing, training, and setting clear expectations and follow-up.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment as well as perform job functions independently.
- Kitchen experience is a win!
- Proven skills in organizing work, attention to detail, giving direction, delegating tasks, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
