We are seeking a Triage nurse to join our team to assist patients via the phone with concerns related to their orthopaedic journey specifically in the intake and/or post-procedure follow up care. After on-site training, this role is a full-time, hybrid position, where you will work from home 4 days a week and 1 day a week in office. Support for providers and patient care will primarily be handled via phone conversations with patients and physician care teams. In office day should provide opportunity to build a working relationship with providers and their care teams.

As a Triage Nurse, you will provide clinical advice to our patients relating to the orthopedic care they received in office and/or during a procedure. You will be part of a larger subspecialized triage team, and provide support for each other when needed. You will work remotely in a HIPAA Compliant space within your home 4 days a week and 1 day a week in office with provided equipment (utilizing your existing internet connection). You will be an important part of a care team assisting with providing timely response to patient questions and care.

Here’s What You Can Expect

  • Providing high-quality clinical advice to patients via the phone by listening, taking quality notes, documenting in the EHR and collaborating on patient care.
  • You will be on the phone for extended periods of time which may seem unnatural; you will regularly and accurately document in a patient's chart relating to any communication to the patient and the care team.
  • A fast-paced, specialized environment of supporting patient care by communicating with the provider team of Physicians and Physician Assistants, via electronic medical record system, secure messenger systems and/or phone to ensure appropriate clinical advice is given based on current protocols.

What We’re Looking For

  • Ability to prioritize and quickly shift gears to ensure patient concerns related to pre and post-procedure care are handled in a timely fashion.
  • Experience working in an orthopaedic clinic or urgent care setting; and successful experience providing telephonic triage in a busy clinic.
  • Strong listening and communication skills to appropriately address patient questions and care, and translating information to the care team.
  • You practice the art of listening, asking clarifying questions, and avoiding interrupting your patient.
  • Active RN or LPN license OR CMA Certification in good standing.

Why DMOS?

  • Supportive team to assist with patient care and provide back up for work life balance.
  • Outstanding 401(k) with an annual company profit sharing contribution (even if you don’t participate in the match program).
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance including six paid holidays and a generous PTO accrual program for full time staff to earn up to 27 days a year.
  • We’ll celebrate 70 years of orthopedic care in 2025!
