Title: Assistant DC Manager
Department: Operations
Pay Status: Exempt
Reports To: DC Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant DC Manager will be expected to operate the daily functions of the warehouse in the absence of the DC Manager. The Assistant DC Manager will ensure all facets of the departmental processes and procedures are completed daily, will follow up with and communicate effectively all departments outside of the warehouse, and will lead, develop and motivate all warehouse staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Occasionally team lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Occasionally required to push/pull a ladder, ascend and/or descend ladder while holding packages.
- Occasionally required to operate material handling lift equipment.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Achieve objectives and performance goals for the operations of the DC.
- Use Warehouse Control System to monitor AMR statuses and Warehouse Generalist workflow and make adjustments between departments to optimize labor productivity and meet customer service levels.
- Must have the ability to use RF gun and robotics to pick.
- Must have the ability and package customer orders.
- Support inventory control activities including cycle counts, discrepancy resolution, and ensuring inventory accuracy.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
- Act as a liaison between warehouse operations and other departments (customer service, purchasing) to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
- Help lead team meetings reinforcing priorities and safety messages.
- Must be comfortable working in an environment where priorities can shift quickly, have the ability to adapt to changes.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure assigned employees are aware of all facets of departmental processes and procedures.
- Assist in allocating and managing resources according to changing needs and demands.
- Responsible for ensuring teams follow safety procedures.
- Cross train employees in other job functions in the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintains warehouse staff by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 5 years Supervisor experience or Team Lead in a high volume distribution center
- Ability to treat all information as confidential and demonstrate a high level of ethics, trust and professionalism
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; capable of relating to individuals at all levels
- Strong computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Experience with personnel performance reviews
- Has a basic knowledge of budgets with a proven understanding of Distribution or Warehousing expenses
- Has experience implementing and following a Safety Program
- Must adhere to all safety and housekeeping policies and guidelines
EDUCATION
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Basic knowledge of a distribution ERP system; Epicor Prophet 21 a plus
