JOB TITLE: Rink Worker
DEPARTMENT: Athletics
REPORTS TO: Athletics Facility Manager
SALARY RANGE: Salary Commensurate with Experience
POSITION / FTE: Seasonal, Per Diem
Position Requirements:
The duties and responsibilities of the Rink Worker include, but are not limited to:
- Perform simple mechanical tasks relating to the operation of twin rinks.
- Assist Rink Manager in preparing and maintaining ice rinks and associated areas.
- Operate and maintain ice re-surfacer and edger.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on ice-making equipment.
- Perform routine and repair maintenance during and at the end of the season.
- Secure and lock up rinks after events.
- General custodial duties including cleaning rink areas, team rooms, halls, and boxes.
- Shovel snow surrounding the rinks.
- Sharpen and repair skates.
- Contact emergency personnel in the event of a skating emergency and assist in securing the situation as needed.
- Emergency call in as needed.
- Assist the Rink Manager and the Director of Facilities as needed.
Minimum Desired Qualifications:
- High School diploma
- Ability to lift 65 lbs.
- Ability to work in a cold environment on ice for extended periods of time.
- Ability to interface with staff, faculty and students in a friendly manner.
