Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Controls and Wiring Team Lead, for our Greeley, CO facility. This position plays a critical role in achieving our strategic objectives. Trystar’s Team Leader position is an important part of Trystar’s plan to become the world’s foremost custom solution provider. 

 

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Site Leader, Controls and Wiring Team Lead, responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a team of technicians in a manufacturing environment. They play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality of components and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. In this role you will get to lead a team of production associates to execute production, improve and implement effective manufacturing processes, utilize concepts of lean & 6 sigma to drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, while working to achieve key performance metrics and meeting/exceeding customer expectations.

In this role you will get to: 

 

  • Team Supervision: Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the controls and wiring technicians, in the assembly and installation of electrical control systems area. Ensuring employees work cohesively and efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards. Partner with area Supervisor in determining weekly schedules employees, including authorizing overtime based on business needs.
  • Work Allocation: Arrange and control daily team activities to ensure smooth workflow, quality production, inventory accuracy, and timely delivery. Assign tasks and projects to team members based on their skills, expertise, and workload capacity, ensuring a balanced distribution of responsibilities.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the production process to ensure components and assemblies meet the required quality, environmental, and safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Work Coordination: Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and production planning, to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide coaching to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in fabrication techniques and equipment operation. Lead and motivate individual and team development in the Fabrication department. Drive positive recognition in work area. 
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure team members are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate fabrication processes and procedures, seeking opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work and processes are followed, needed adjustments are implemented and the area is compliant with safety and 5S requirements. Be a change agent within the department driving continuous improvement & waste elimination.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production data in Epicor, work progress, and any issues or challenges encountered during fabrication operations.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to design and refine control circuits and panel layouts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to wiring, components, and control systems. 

 

Job Requirements: 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical wiring and controls assembly.
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical components and control systems.
  • Experience with UL891 production guidelines
  • Multimeter proficiency for troubleshooting and testing

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiar with PLCs, VFDs, circuit breakers, and industrial control components.
  • Knowledge of wire gauges, ampacities, and enclosure ratings.
  • Skilled in using hand tools and power tools with minimal guidance.
  • Able to install wire labels, device tags, and manage documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with metric and standard measurements.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ISO documentation.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed and support team goals.
  • Proficient in usage of AutoCAD or comparable software to draw schematics
  • Experience in PLC and controller programming
  • NFPA 70E training certification
  • UL891 MTR
