THE ROLE: Cost Accountant

LOCATION: Waukesha, WI

REPORTS TO: Business Analyst

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, exempt

OUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Cost Accountant will support Wildeck by working with Supply Chain, Operations and Business Analyst to identify issues and improvement opportunities and implement best in class standard cost processes and reporting.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform standard cost rolls of product components and finished goods, both manufactured and purchased, based on material, labor, and overhead costs, and understand the key drivers of changes in standard costs.
  • Analyze variances from standard costs and draw meaningful conclusions from the data with a goal of reducing variances by continuous improvement. Variances include manufactured and purchased parts.
  • Work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance team to identify root causes of standard costs issues and propose solutions in a prioritized manner.
  • Update monthly reports related to material spending and labor activities, which are used by management to forecast financials and adjust pricing models.
  • Monitor and analyze cost of goods sold financial performance, providing reports and recommendations to management.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Two years’ cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably with a large amount of part numbers and standard cost changes.
  • Epicor or similar ERP system experience required.
  • Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated proficiency of PivotTables and lookups.
  • Highly analytical, self-starter, with the ability to research, compile, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Strong communicator who understands the need to build trusting relationships through all organizational levels, and capable of presenting information tailored to diverse audiences.
  • PowerBI or similar business analytics software experience is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements include twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
