About the Role:

The MHS General Maintenance Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of properties within our real estate portfolio. This position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks that enhance the functionality and appearance of residential and commercial spaces. The ideal candidate will contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for tenants and visitors alike, addressing maintenance issues promptly and efficiently. By maintaining high standards of property care, the associate will help to preserve the value of our assets and improve tenant satisfaction. Ultimately, this role is vital in supporting the overall mission of our organization to provide quality living and working spaces.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in general maintenance or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
  • Experience in property management or real estate maintenance.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Respond to tenant maintenance requests in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to their daily activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of supplies.
  • Collaborate with other team members and contractors to complete larger maintenance projects.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of general maintenance practices, which will be applied daily to ensure properties are well-maintained. Problem-solving skills are essential, as the associate will need to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions quickly. Communication skills are also important, as the associate will interact with tenants and team members to coordinate maintenance efforts. Preferred skills, such as specialized certifications, will enhance the associate's ability to perform complex repairs and improve overall efficiency. Additionally, organizational skills will be utilized to keep track of maintenance schedules and inventory, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
