  • Apply principles of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to create solutions that meet specific technical needs.
  • Apply electromagnetic/RF/radar theories to review and critique RF characteristics and its performance and interactions with other RF equipment (e.g., filter, antenna, BER, S/N, I/N, S/I+N)
  • Demonstrate the ability to master spectrum engineering/analysis tools to evaluate the potential for interference between DoD and other federal RF systems as well as with commercial wireless networks
  • Write scripts to automate post processing associated with RF measurements and the execution of spectrum engineering/analysis tools
  • Perform RF link budget analyses (e.g., applying RF characteristics and appropriate propagation model) to assess RF performance and defend results to key stakeholders.
  • Apply RF/radar theories to review the equipment specifications (e.g., transmitter, receiver, antenna) of any RF/radar equipment against DoD/NTIA/ITU RF/radar standards.  Be able to apply RF engineering principles to justify and defend as how the RF equipment performs and its compliance/non-compliances to RF standards.  If the equipment does not meet the communication standards, work with the vendors/program office/designer to recommend how the equipment can be changed to meet DoD/NTIA/ITU standards.
