Zuern Building Products & Design Center is currently looking for the right person to join our Operations team at our Slinger location. Must be available Monday through Friday. This role offers the right candidate the potential to develop new skills with career advancement opportunities.


Job Summary:

The shipping lead is responsible for working alongside the distribution manager setting the example and providing direction in the operation of the distribution center. This is accomplished by leading the staff to provide excellent customer service to customers and to ensure company processes and policies are followed.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Enforce and follow all company policies including safety
  2. Loading of materials to be delivered
  3. Load customer orders that are processed from sales
  4. Direct the drivers and driving team on a daily basis 
  5. Stock and maintain product in bins
  6. Implementing a system for double checking (physically counting and approving) all deliveries for accuracy before leaving the      yard
  7. Continuous communication with the Distribution Manager and other leads on updates, improvements, etc. as needed
  8. Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results 
  9. Maintain staff by recruiting, interviewing, orienting and training employees 
  10. Help manage warehouse organization and cleanliness (basic housekeeping, ie: sweep aisles, straighten piles, and pick up scraps)
  11. Care of product against damage 
  12. Fill in for driving team when needed 
  13. Other duties upon request by a manager/owner 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  1. Fork lift certification required
  2. Excellent customer service skills.
  3. Ability to lift and carry 25 to over 100 pounds on a consistent basis. Possible weight of 125 pounds and over at times.
  4. Alert, focused and detail-oriented.
  5. Physically and mentally fit
  6. Self starter who works well independently as well as the ability to work well with others when needed
  7. Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
