Position Duties

  • Answer phones, greet visitors, respond to inquiries; monitor supplies, prepare correspondences, update policies
  • Monitor budgets, budget amendments/transfers, key invoices, assist with preparation of contracts/purchase requisitions and procurement card reconciliations
  • Grants Management; monitor funding, due dates, reports
  • Assist staff with general policy and HR questions, preparation and submission of evaluations, work with supervisor and director on preparing hiring documents, enter personnel actions as needed, provide appropriate documentation to support actions

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited two-year college or technical school with a degree in business administration or the assigned area and two (2) years of experience in office administration or the assigned area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of office software and applications to the administrative environment
  • Knowledge of accounting methodologies, accounts payable and receivable and payroll procedures in County government operations
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and of the County’s personnel policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of administrative policies, procedures, and laws in support duties and tasks
  • Ability to supervise and train others
  • Ability to provide leadership to other support or program staff
  • Ability to set work priorities and organize duties and tasks
  • Ability to gather and give information on departmental programs based on inquiries
  • Ability to analyze processes, procedures, and policies and formulate recommendations
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to be tactful and courteous
  • Ability to formulate recommendations in precedent setting situations
  • Ability to formulate, monitor, and present budget recommendations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
