The Opportunity with McKinstry
The Senior Remote Operations Engineer supports 24/7 Remote Operations of building Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) controls systems with reliable response and triage of the work orders to assist clients with control systems alarms, comfort calls, scheduling, and trend analysis. This role also enables the broader Technical Services team with Building Automation Systems focused support to identify optimization opportunities, as well as troubleshooting and serving as an advanced technical reference to Remote Operations Controls team. As a Senior member of the team you will also assist in Remote Operations improvement and provide advanced technical support on complex projects.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Supports Supervisor in Program management (team workload, recruiting, hiring, developing, planning).
- Client Deliverable Review/Generation.
- Building Connect/Data feed Acquisition, Analysis, and Reporting.
- Drive best in class deliverables and standard Remote Operations for team.
- Mentors & Elevates tier 1 & tier 2 staff technical skills.
- Participate in on-call support 24/7.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
- Experience with visualization tools like Excel, Tableau and PowerBI.
- Advanced understanding of building systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS) and programming.
- Proficient in building data acquisition and analysis and reporting.
- Communication/Teaming/Internal and External Interaction.
- Project Management/Leadership Skills/Business Acumen.
- Ability to triage and diagnose root cause.
- Change and manage portfolio wide schedules and overrides.
- Strong knowledge of multiple controls systems (Alerton, Distech, Honeywell, Siemens, Tolon, Tridium, etc.).
- Ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Ability to manage highly technical issues and document findings.
- Technical Degree / Bachelor’s or Data / Engineering Degree (desired) Relevant Work Experience Required.

The pay range for this position is $84,060 – $136,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
