The Role: As the Director - IT/OT Systems, reporting to the CIO, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between traditional IT systems and operational technologies (OT), ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operations across plant and enterprise systems. You will bring deep domain knowledge in AspenTech, MES, LIMS, broader OT infrastructure, and IT enterprise networks, as well as strong leadership capabilities to drive digital transformation initiatives aligned with business strategy. 

How You Will Make an Impact:

Strategic Leadership

• Define and lead the IT/OT convergence strategy across manufacturing operations and enterprise systems.
• Partner with business leaders, plant managers, and engineers to identify technology needs and align OT initiatives with enterprise IT goals.
• Champion cybersecurity and network micro segmentation in OT environments.

Technical Oversight

• Lead the deployment and optimization of AspenTech solutions, including IP.21, DMCPlus, A1PE, and APRM.
• Oversee MES platforms such as OSIsoft PI, LIMS, EHS, and their integration with SAP ERP.
• Partnering with the manufacturing functions to enhance DCS environments (e.g., Emerson DeltaV), ensuring high availability and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain a secure and robust OT network architecture based on the Purdue Model, with clear micro segmentation and secure remote access.

Innovation & Enablement

• Evaluate and implement AI/ML and GenAI capabilities to improve predictive maintenance, process optimization, and energy efficiency.
• Drive standardization of data models and historian platforms across sites.
• Lead initiatives for cloud enablement, mobility, and enterprise-wide data visibility using AspenTech historian data
• Exposure to analytical tools (Power BI) and Microsoft Fabric to drive data insights and AI capabilities
• Familiarity with Azure and other public cloud providers' services and security

Program and Project Management

• Lead large-scale automation and digitization projects across plants (e.g., MES rollouts, predictive analytics, AI in manufacturing).
• Collaborate with vendors and solution providers to implement upgrades and new technologies.
• Develop and manage budgets for IT/OT capital expenditures and operations

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

• Good understanding of compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, NIST 800-82).
• Establish and monitor cybersecurity best practices in OT systems (firewall zones, access control lists, anomaly detection, VPN tunnels and IPS).
• Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place for critical production systems.
• Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and incident response efforts

Team Development

• Build and lead cross-functional teams of IT specialists and automation professionals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and innovation.

Creating Extraordinary Starts With:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Chemistry or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT/OT roles within the chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing industries.
• Strong technical background in OT Infrastructure and MES applications
