Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Career and Technical Education Instructor with expertise in welding, metals, manufacturing, and power sports technology to lead our comprehensive hands-on training programs. This role is critical in equipping students with practical, industry-relevant skills that support workforce readiness and local economic growth. The instructor will deliver engaging instruction across multiple courses, including advanced welding techniques, introduction to metals, welding and manufacturing processes, and power sports mechanics. Students will gain proficiency in areas such as metal fabrication, machining operations, gas and electric arc welding (MIG/TIG), equipment safety, engine disassembly and repair, basic electrical theory, troubleshooting, and alternative power systems. Through a blend of classroom learning and applied shop work, the instructor will prepare students for immediate employment, apprenticeships, industry certifications, or further technical education.

Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196.
Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.

Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.

Qualifications:

Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach high school manufacturing careers.
Associate degree or higher in welding technology, manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred.
Significant welding experience with advanced techniques and processes (certifications preferred).
Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or related technical fields preferred.
Prior teaching or training experience strongly desired; willingness to complete instructor training if needed.
Strong knowledge of welding safety protocols and OSHA standards.
Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and foster an inclusive, supportive environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver an engaging, hands-on curriculum covering advanced welding processes, blueprint reading, fabrication techniques, weld testing, inspection, and related theory.
Provide practical instruction in precision welding, complex joint fabrication, and other industry-relevant techniques.
Teach and strictly enforce all welding and fabrication safety protocols, ensuring a safe, compliant learning environment.
Manage and maintain welding equipment, tools, and lab supplies, performing regular inspections and coordinating necessary repairs.
Evaluate student progress through practical projects, written assessments, and performance-based testing, offering constructive feedback to support skill growth.
Mentor students on career pathways, including apprenticeships, industry certifications, and post-secondary education opportunities.
Foster critical problem-solving abilities, a strong work ethic, professionalism, and effective teamwork skills.
Collaborate with school staff, local businesses, and industry partners to ensure the program aligns with current workforce needs.
