The Hallway Café is more than just a café. It’s a social enterprise that provides vulnerable youth with 17 weeks of employment readiness training through real-world experience in food and beverage service. We serve the community while creating pathways for young people to thrive.


As a Youth Case Coordinator, your primary responsibility will focus on building relationships with employers in the community and advocating and supporting youth as they transition out of the program and into employment. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide a full wrap around support models for youth in the program. You are responsible for ensuring each youth successfully navigates the transition out of the 17-week employment readiness training through resume building, interview techniques, and ultimately into gainful employment. You will build relationships with employers in the community to create pathways to employment for the youth. 



Key Responsibilities:


Youth Support & Advocacy

  • Build meaningful, trusting relationships with youth participants.
  • Assist youth in setting and achieving employment goals.
  • Provide one-on-one support and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Help youth with job searches, resume writing, and interview prep.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with youth post-program (1, 3, 6, and 12-month check-ins).

Case Management

  • Develop personalized employment plans with youth.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support youth progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including critical incident reports.

Employment Navigation

  • Build partnerships with local employers to create job opportunities.
  • Provide transitional support to both employers and youth as they enter the workforce.
  • Stay engaged with youth and employers to ensure successful placements.

Social Enterprise & Café Engagement

  • Participate in café operations to stay connected with youth and workflows.
  • Model professionalism and work ethic in a hospitality setting.

Workshop Facilitation

  • Lead workshops on life skills, stress management, food service training, and employment readiness.

 

What you bring to the team:

  • Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, valid insurance with $2M liability coverage.
  • Experience in hospitality/food service is an asset.
  • Workshop facilitation experience is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of trauma-informed, harm reduction, and solution-focused approaches.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, valid insurance with $2M liability coverage.
