VOLUNTEER POSITION
Be part of a close-knit community working to raise awareness and funds to help provide a comforting and accepting environment for individuals placed on the Autism Spectrum. Collaborate to run unique initiatives, foster a team environment and make a visible impact within the Autism community by bringing fun events to the Queen’s Community. Available roles include Homework Helpers Coordinators, Puppy Pals Coordinators and Logistics Coordinators. Previous experience with children or individuals on the ASD spectrum is not required.
Applications will be available until September 10th at 4pm EST.

- Logistics Coordinator Executives (x2)
- Homework Helpers Executives (x4)

- Education Executive Coordinators (x2)
Time Commitment and Responsibilities
An approximately 8-month term from September 2025 to April 2026 with a time commitment of 2-3 hours per week
Puppy Pals
Executive Coordinators (2)
- Plan and execute bi-weekly events: room booking, event sanctioning, recruitment etc.
- Event set-up and clean-up.Volunteer scheduling.Communicate with volunteers and co-chairs.
Volunteers (5)
- Assist execs with set-up and clean-up.
- Attend bi-weekly puppy pals events.
- Facilitate play with dogs and participants and help with crafts.
Homework helpers
Executive Coordinators (3)- Match participants with tutors based on subject and availability (may also have a student themselves).
- Weekly check-ins with homework helper volunteers to ensure they are meeting with their students.
- Communicate with volunteers and co-chairs.
Volunteers (10)
- Provide 1:1 tutoring with a participant once a week for one hour until June (may be online).
- Communicate with participants and parents to support your students' learning.
- Communicate with executive coordinators about tutoring sessions.
Logistics Team
Fundraising Coordinators (2)-Plan and execute one event/fundraiser per semester.
-Assist co-chairs with Autism Acceptance week.
Media and Graphics Specialist (1)
- Participate in fundraising planning and execution.
- Specialize in design of all promotional materials.
- Monitor activity on all social media accounts.
Education Team
Executive Coordinators (3)
- Responsible for researching and keeping updated on autism related conversations.
- Create training material and coordinate a committee wide education day (in collaboration with co-chairs).
- Collaborate with media and graphics specialists for promotional materials.
