Internal Job Opportunity – Social Care & Education (Childcare) Paralegal
Legal Services Department 

Are you ready for your next step within Legal Services? We have an exciting internal opportunity for a dedicated and organised Paralegal to join our dynamic Social Care & Education (Childcare) Legal Team.

About the Role:
This role will support our busy childcare legal team in delivering high-quality legal services to the Council. You’ll play a key role in supporting lawyers on care proceedings, pre-proceedings, and other matters relating to children’s social care. 

What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience working as a Paralegal, ideally within a local government setting
Sound knowledge of childcare law, particularly public law proceedings
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
A proactive team player who can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

What You’ll Be Doing:

Preparing court bundles and legal documentation
Managing a caseload under supervision
Supporting lawyers in hearings and case preparation
Liaising with clients, counsel, and external agencies
Maintaining accurate legal records and case management systems
