Head Coach, Men’s and Women’s TennisJob Summary:
Position Overview: Muhlenberg College, a Division III institution and a member of the Centennial Conference is seeking applications for a Men’s and Women’s Tennis Head Coach opening. Coaching and/or collegiate playing experience and a four-year college degree are required. Responsibilities include planning and managing all phases of the tennis programs, ensuring compliance with conference and NCAA rules and regulations, identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes; planning and implementing strategies for success in daily practices on and off the court, supporting athletics alumni engagement, contributing to a diverse and inclusive campus culture and collaborating effectively with various entities across the college.
Characteristic Responsibilities:
Coaching
Plan and manage a competitive NCAA Division III program in accordance with College, NCAA and Centennial Conference policies.
Coach, motivate, counsel and support student-athletes in realizing their potential for personal growth and development as students, athletes and members of the Muhlenberg campus community.
Plan and evaluate program results.
Achieve team success within and beyond the conference.
General Athletic/Team Operations
Develop an annual professional development plan that will ensure awareness of trends, best practices, new information, etc. related to athletics, student development, leadership and inclusion practices and skills.
Hire, mentor and supervise coaching staff.
Actively participate in fundraising activities in support of the program and the Cardinal and Grey Fund.
Establish and meet annual recruitment goals, working with the Assistant Director of Athletics for Recruitment and Retention to ensure long term recruiting goals are being achieved.
Maintain recruiting software, monitor the various recruiting services, utilize and manage social media, and analyze national recruiting trends and research/review each area to support recruiting goals.
Assume a secondary assignment commensurate with abilities, interests and departmental needs.
Student-Athlete Community Relations
Provide leadership and support to all facets of the program in advancing the mission of the Colle and Athletics department.
Create positive support for the program within the campus community and outside constituencies including alumni, parents and friends of Muhlenberg College.
Lead and participate in Divisional and College-wide committees and initiatives.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and coaching experience required; advanced degree preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the Division III philosophy of athletics and adherence to NCAA regulations regarding operation of athletic programs.
Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills required.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and engage with varied audience, including but not limited to students, parents, College employees, alumni, and community relations.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive academic and professional environment where all members of our campus community are respected, valued and succeed, and thrive.
Ability to travel and adapt to varying schedules, including evening and weekend hours, in accordance with the needs of the teams.
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to education verification, national criminal background checks, child abuse clearance, and driving record check.
