The Child Watch Associate is responsible for providing a safe and caring environment for children while in YMCA care. The Birthday Party Associate works with their supervisor to create a fun and engaging birthday at the YMCA.  Engages with parents and children in a positive way in both Child Watch and during birthday parties to further the mission of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Oversee the safety and whereabouts of the children in the group at all times, providing a safe, interactive program.  
  • Maintain a clean and risk-free room arrangement.  
  • Maintain records, including, (but not limited to): accident and incident reports, sign in/out  
  • sheets, attendance records.  
  • Greet parents and children daily using names in all interactions.  
  • Report and/or direct parental concerns to supervisor. 
  • Use positive, age-appropriate behavior management tools, including redirection and positive reinforcement, using the Y voice at all times.    
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications


What You'll Need

 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred  
  • Must be at least 15 years of age or older  
  • Experience with children preferred  
  • Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
