Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for leading StrideCare’s core accounting processes, including month-end close, financial reporting, and audit and tax preparation. This role will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial results while maintaining strong internal controls. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will be an integral partner in the implementation of a new ERP system to support StrideCare’s high-growth, acquisition-driven environment. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller and will have cross-departmental visibility, collaborating with Finance, Operations, and other functions to strengthen reporting and support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
• Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process to ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial results.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses to maintain data integrity.
• Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements for management and external stakeholders.
• Continuously improve close processes to shorten timelines and enhance efficiency.
Audit & Tax Preparation
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Partner with external tax advisors to provide accurate information for federal, state, and local tax filings.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
ERP System Implementation & Process Improvement
• Lead the data migration process form the historical ERP ensuring accuracy in transferred data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth system integration and proper configuration of accounting processes.
• Develop best practices for automation, reporting, and internal controls within the ERP system.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Mentor and support staff accountants and team members, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Leadership to provide insights that drive decision-making.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the accounting team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or audit background.
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience preparing for external audits and coordinating with tax advisors.
• Hands-on involvement in ERP implementation or system transformation projects strongly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with mid-to-large scale ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
