We are seeking an Interconnection Specialist to provide technical support to the commercial operations division of our company. The company’s interconnection team supports all interconnection related activities for solar and battery storage projects from early-stage development all the way to commercial operation. This role will have an emphasis on supporting Project Management and Construction Management crews in an effort to interconnect renewable energy systems more efficiently.

Previous proficiency in interconnection procedures is beneficial, but can be obtained on the job. The accepted applicant will play a key role in advising and presenting recommendations about critical issues related to potential commercial transactions, long-term and short-term planning issues and/or real-time operational issues. This is a great role for someone looking to play an integral part in our fast-growing business. 


The Interconnection Specialist day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and submit interconnection applications, including technical studies and required documentation

  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure project designs meet utility interconnection requirements

  • Track project milestones, manage timelines, and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders

  • Maintain relationships with utility interconnection personnel and regulatory bodies

  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting interconnection procedures and timelines

  • Support due diligence activities for project acquisitions and financing

  • Incorporating process improvement initiatives in coordination with local and regional utility companies.

  • Analyzing electrical grids to identify new opportunities for interconnecting renewable energy and storage projects. 

  • Performing Site Visits with Engineers and Utility Representatives to consider ideal locations for interconnection equipment.


These are our education & qualification requirements: 

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering, land development, project management, or interconnection administration.

  • Excellent Organizational skills, including the ability to meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments, build schedules, and facilitate meetings.

  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical peers.

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with utility companies, or other large institutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, renewable energy, or related field preferred.

  • Knowledge in renewable energy and/or utility distribution planning is preferred.

  • Experience working on transmission and interconnection activities is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address interconnection risks.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Relationship management skills to develop and maintain rapport with Internal and external stakeholders.

  • Critical thinking skills by providing insightful recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders to advance the organization's portfolios.

  • Annual Salary Range: $70,000-85,000
