Eliada Homes, a historical fixture within Western North Carolina since 1903, is one Asheville's longest running nonprofits. Our beautiful 300+ acre campus provides a cradle to career continuum of services for over 600 children and youth annually. Child Development staff work with children up to 5 years of age providing them with services which focus on social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development while integrating life-skills into our daily activities and lessons. 


What you'll be doing as the Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher: 

  • Assume primary role in designing and implementing activity plans, record-keeping, care and supervision of children in the classroom, communicating with parents and administrative staff, and delegates appropriate duties and responsibilities to teacher and teacher’s assistant.
  • Writes and implements daily/weekly lesson plans for children in classroom that are developmentally appropriate for the children in care.
  • Ensures that children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs are met through close visual supervision and observation of group and one-on-one interactions with individual children.
  • Assists the Director in devising service plans for children with special needs. 
  • Ensures that necessary classroom records/documents are kept current, organized, and on file.
  • Ensures, through communication with administrative staff, that licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are maintained in the classroom.
