Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, the Director of Early Learners will direct the District’s transformational work to develop and support our early childhood educators, school leaders, families and community partners from birth to third grade. The Director will have direct oversight of the District’s Head Start and Pre School programs and staff. The Director will also lead the development and implementation of an integrated plan that aligns with the District’s overall strategic plan and creates high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning progression for students from preschool through grade 3 (P-3). In addition, the Director will lead the vision, direct the team, and manage the budget and allocation of resources to accelerate how school leaders, families, and community partners work together to create the conditions for success for the District’s youngest learners.

Requirements:
1. Experience:
a. Three (3) years of successful Administration in Early Childhood Program serving children ages 2 through 5 years old.
b. Five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience; successful experience in one or more of the following assignments: Head Start, Pre-school, or Elementary.
2. Education:
a. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or Human Development from an accredited institution of higher learning. Official Transcripts

3. Credential:
a. Possession of a valid California Child Development Program Director Permit or other credential authorizing supervision of child development programs.
