How you will make an impact:

The Director of Strategic Demand Planning is a senior leader responsible for developing and executing Crane Currency’s global demand planning strategy to enable accurate forecasting, optimized inventory, and aligned production. This role ensures that demand signals from internal stakeholders are translated into actionable plans that support operational efficiency, capex investment, headcount justification and customer satisfaction. By collaborating across functions, the Director drives data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy. Their strategic oversight directly impacts revenue planning, capacity utilization, and working capital performance. 

• Lead the development of monthly, quarterly, and annual demand forecasts to support production planning, STRAT Planning, OP plan, inventory management, and financial planning for the international business.
• Establish and manage demand planning KPIs, including forecast accuracy, Inventory levels, Capacity vs Outsource levels, Product Management roadmap, On Time to Market, and service level performance.
• Facilitate cross-functional demand review meetings as part of the S&OP process, ensuring alignment between commercial, product management and operational teams.
• Integrate market intelligence, customer insights, and historical data into forecasting models to improve predictability.
• Collaborate with Sales and Bid teams to incorporate strategic opportunities and pipeline data into demand scenarios.
• Partner with IT and Data Analytics teams to enhance forecasting tools and reporting capabilities.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to demand variability, seasonality, and customer behavior.
• Support executive decision-making with scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and demand simulations.

• Develop and implement training, documentation, and best practices to elevate demand planning maturity across the organization.

   

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain strategy, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven success in leading global demand planning functions and driving measurable improvements in forecast accuracy and operational performance.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in forecasting tools, ERP systems, and data visualization platforms.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
   

Preferred: 

• Certifications such as APICS CPIM, IBF CPF, or Six Sigma
• Experience in high-security, regulated industries such as currency, defense, or aerospace.
• Familiarity with S&OP processes, scenario planning, and predictive analytics.
• Experience leading digital transformation or systems integration projects in planning functions.
