Inspector I, 2nd Shift
New Bern, NC / Full-time
Your responsibilities
Responsible for Incoming Inspection process for assigned area, ensuring that all inspected shipments meet specifications and requirements. Support area value streams to ensure continuity of processes in regard to assigned area components or unit. Take photos of new incoming and existing parts.
· Conduct inspection on incoming material by confirming specifications including but not limited to visual, mechanical, and electrical requirements per inspection plan and documented procedures.
· Perform all necessary SAP and other system transactions related to area functions
· Initiate supplier communications relevant to quality disruptions and/or non-conformances that may include RMA/Credit requests and request for sorting authorizations.
· Organize, analyze, and expedite the physical and systematic disposition of supplier related defects including area returns
· Communicate effectively on non-conforming parts to the value stream
· Take photos of new, existing and damaged parts
· Follow area work instructions and processes
· Participate in problem solving processes
· Apply quality cosmetic standards during component or unit inspection
· Ensure work area is kept in proper order adhering to the 5S standards.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Your profile
· High-School Diploma – Required
· 0-2 Years of Experience (Technical experience.) – Required
· Understand and practice good plant and environmental safety.
· Understanding and ability to apply statistical methods and quality standards.
· Manufacturing background in related departmental area preferred.
· Ability to read component blueprints.
· Knowledge of and ability to use gages and other relevant measuring equipment .
· Computer skills including MS, Teamcenter, SharePoint and SAP.
· Ability to take pictures with DSLR camera and/or iPad
· Ability to upload photos to file folders and emails
· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
· Willingness to work flexible hours based on business needs.
· Able to work independently and prioritize with minimal supervision.
· Travel Percentage – 10%
Your Pay & Benefits
The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
Benefits offered include the following:

The plan provides a fully vested 100% employer match on the first 4% of compensation contributed and also includes an annual employer-funded profit sharing contribution dependent on company profitability.
· Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.
· Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.
· The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).
· 40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).
· 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
