Hybrid Maintenance Technician I (Tanglewood Park) bei Forsyth County (NC), NC

About the Department

Forsyth County's Park and Recreation Department has a great opportunity to work in an outdoor environment in western Forsyth County by performing a variety of tasks associated with park maintenance operations. Tanglewood Park is seeking a motivated individual that would be interested in working in a part-time year-round Maintenance Technician I position.

This position performs duties associated with maintenance of park grounds and will have direct interaction with park patrons and will provide information and instruction to guest that are utilizing park facilities and assist with requests to ensure that facility is acceptable for rental period.  Responsible for operation and general maintenance of a variety of small equipment.

Work shifts and schedules will be varied due to seasonal operational requirements:
January - March: Friday - Sunday 7:00 am - 1:30 pm
April - August: Friday - Sunday 3:30 pm - 12:30 am
September - October: Friday - Sunday 7:00 am - 2:30 pm
November - December: Friday - Sunday 7:00 am - 1:30 pm

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work.

A valid driver's license is required.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered for minimum qualification requirements.

Other Qualifications

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining public picnic shelters

Cleaning public restrooms and replenishing public restroom supplies

Trash removal and pet waste stations

Maintenance of park grounds such as mulching, spreading gravel, repair fencing, leaf removal, backpack blowing, pressure washing and line trimming, snow removal, trail maintenance and general grounds maintenance tasks. 

Volleyball and horseshoe pit maintenance

Cleaning of public grills

Lock and unlock access gates and facilities. 

Will assist with the installation and dismantling of light displays for the annual Festival of Lights.

May assist with the completion of small projects and work requests such as picnic table repair, staining, fencing and painting. 

May assist with duties associated with special event preparations and clean up. 

Performs all related work as required
