About The Job -

Primary responsibilities include promoting loans through public contact, developing relationships with new and current realtors, builders and borrowers to promote continuous business, promoting and cross selling bank products, and interviewing and pre-qualifying prospective borrowers to originate residential mortgage loans.

Essential Job Duties –

  • Originates residential portfolio and secondary market, including Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, special programs and construction loan applications in order to meet specific loan volume origination goals.
  • Strict adherence to all internal policies and procedures as they relate to products, processes, and pricing.
  • Interviews applicants and obtains specified information relating to the loan or credit application; corresponds with applicant via telephone, email or in-person to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Coordinates processing of loans with assigned Loan Processor.  Collects appropriate documentation from each applicant and delivers loan package in the time frames as required by government regulations and set by management.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge and data relating to the financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors and competition.
  • Works with assigned branch office(s) to ensure awareness of mortgage loan products and policies.
  • Handles referrals from each branch office and provides appropriate follow-up and feedback within timeframes as directed by management.
  • Utilizes, manages, and markets to a database of customer contacts.
  • Manages pipeline for all pre-approvals, originated loans through closing and completes required follow-up.
  • Participates in the business development activities to cultivate relationships with area realtors, builders, developers, professional and personal contacts, title companies and appraisers.
  • Participates in community, service clubs, school and charitable functions.
  • Attends training to remain current on all investor, PMI, appraisal and company compliance requirements.
  • Complies with and maintains working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.  Completes assigned compliance training essential to job function.

Requirements -

  • 3-5 years of banking experience with an emphasis in mortgage lending
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of FHNMA, FHLMC, and Government for selling and servicing of loans
  • Ability to coach the process of identifying needs and implementing an effective solution in a slow or
     rapid growth environment
  • Ability to solve complex issues
  • Ability to build quality customer and client relationships
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent math, analytical, and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor
  • This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).  The NMLS website (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
