We work a hybrid model (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home); this position is located in our Minneapolis Metro headquarters.
- Evaluate long-term business needs and align them with the overall system architecture.
- Lead strategic architectural decision-making to support future capabilities.
- Collaborate with product owners to brainstorm, define, and design effective solutions.
- Provide technical leadership to architect and design products.
- Establish and uphold technical standards across the platform.
- Mentor development leads and architects across the organization (influence without direct management).
- Security -- Ensure applications and environments are secure to industry and BIW standards, and that we have strategies and processes to remain secure.
- Partner with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to align application and infrastructure strategies.
- Interact with and influence all members of product teams including product owner, engineering manager, front and back-end developers, QA, UX/designers, management.
- Play a key role in incident response and resolution of critical issues.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies--evaluate their potential, and lead integration where appropriate.
- Proven experience architecting and designing cloud-native, microservices-based platforms.
- 12+ years of experience in application development, including 5+ years in a software architect role.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical designs.
- Hands-on experience with modern technology stacks, including:
- JavaScript, Java
- Kubernetes, Docker
- Kafka, PostgreSQL
- CDNs, CI/CD pipelines
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to mentor and guide senior technical talent.
- Equally comfortable coding, doing code reviews, making technology design and platform decisions, explaining technical concepts and decisions, talking with Product Owners about product features, and/or talking with executive leaders about technology.

Base Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $220,000.00. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, and skills.
