Drew University seeks a Program Assistant for a short-term faculty-led program run by the Center for Global Education (CGE). This position will entail travel to the United Kingdom for the duration of the program, planned for July 28-August 14, 2026 (pending sufficient enrollment). Compensation entails a small stipend of no less than $1,000 (pending enrollment) and travel expenses for the duration of the program (airfare, meals, lodging, transportation). The successful applicant must be able to travel to the United Kingdom with an unexpired passport. Drew does not sponsor visa applications for this position.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain contact with students throughout the program, proactively identifying areas of potential concern and counseling as needed on issues of adjustment, conduct, and other non-academic matters.
- Serve as a liaison between the students and the program provider on site, in person or via text/email to resolve issues and provide support.
- Provide back up support to the director in the event of an emergency.
- Continue the program on site in the director’s stead in the event the director is unavailable.
- Set the tone for a positive experience.
Job Requirements:
- Must have proven experience supporting undergraduate students in an international setting.
- Must have proven experience liaising with a local service provider and solving logistical problems or concerns.
- Must have proven experience handling time-sensitive matters related to student health and wellbeing.
- Must complete all faculty training for short-term faculty-led courses and comply with all HR requirements for independent contractors.
- Unexpired Passport, valid beyond February 15, 2027, and ability to obtain a UK ETA.
- Must have a bachelor's degree.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience teaching undergraduate classes in theatre or the performing arts
- CPR/First Aid certified
Reporting:
- This position is overseen by and reports to the Director of the Center for Global Education
