Purpose:
The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Utilizes the Nursing process to facilitate appropriate care to all patients encountered at Wilmington Health
- Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments as needed (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities);
- Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely.
- Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians.
- Provides patient education.
- Maintains patient confidentiality while performing all duties.
- Oversees LPN's and CMA's when applicable.
- Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office including:
- IV therapy
- IV Medication infusions
- Chemotherapy
- Injections
- Monitor infection control requirements.
- Assure compliance with OSHA standards within Department.
- Respond to emergency situations as necessary.
Other Duties:
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Chemo certification
- BLS/CPR Certification
ADA Physical Demands:
