Purpose:

The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Utilizes the Nursing process to facilitate appropriate care to all patients encountered at Wilmington Health
• Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments as needed (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities);
• Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely.
• Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians.
• Provides patient education.
• Maintains patient confidentiality while performing all duties.
• Oversees LPN's and CMA's when applicable.
• Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office including: 
  1. IV therapy
  2. IV Medication infusions
  3. Chemotherapy
  4. Injections
• Monitor infection control requirements.
• Assure compliance with OSHA standards within Department.
• Respond to emergency situations as necessary.

Other Duties:

• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

• North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Chemo certification
• BLS/CPR Certification

ADA Physical Demands:

Rarely (Less than .5 hrs/day) Occasionally (0.6 – 2.5 hrs/day) Frequently (2.6 – 5.5 hrs/day) Continuously (5.6 – 8.0 hrs/day)
