JOB SUMMARY:

          We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Safe Buffer to join our finishing team. In this role, you will be responsible for polishing and refining clear-coated steel surfaces to achieve a high-quality, smooth, and glossy finish. This position requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and knowledge of surface finishing tools and techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Polish clear-coated steel surfaces using appropriate tools such as rotary polishers, buffers, and microfiber cloths.
• Inspect steel parts before and after polishing to ensure clear-coat quality and uniformity.
• Identify and remove surface imperfections such as dust nibs, scratches, and swirl marks without damaging the clear coat.
• Apply polishing compounds and waxes as required to enhance surface gloss and durability.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and polishing tools.
• Adhere to all safety standards and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work closely with quality control and production teams to meet finishing specifications and deadlines.
• Maintain logs or records of completed work as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year experience in metal finishing, automotive detailing, or a similar role is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with polishing tools and finishing compounds.
• Ability to distinguish subtle differences in surface quality and appearance.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work in a fast-paced assembly-line environment.
• Requires standing for extended periods and handling polishing equipment.
• May involve exposure to chemicals, dust, and moderate noise levels.
