The Clinical Supervisor is a Registered Nurse under general direction from the Director of Clinical Services, that provides nursing care of patients; plans and oversees departmental staff nursing activities, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications required:
- Must be a Registered Nurse with hospice experience.
- Must be skilled with strong clinical knowledge of hospice treatment interventions.
- Must have experience managing health care staff.
- CPR certified.
- One year Hospice RN case management field experience required.
Duties of this position include (but are not limited to):
- Develops, implements, and evaluates orientation and administrative policies and procedures relating to the Agency.
- Provide supervision, education, and direction for all clinical field staff.
- Participates and leads Interdisciplinary Team meetings.
- Evaluate and address customer and staff concerns.
- Participates in selection and maintenance of a qualified, well-organized.
- Review on-going evaluation of performance of hospice care personnel.
- Gives leadership in promoting and maintaining standards for giving good quality care by all members of the patient care team.
- Participate in assigning personnel to patients based on patient need and physician’s plan of care.
- Monitors and audits patients’ clinical records.
- May also have the responsibility of those duties outlined in the Staff Nurse Job description.
- Provide and oversee initial and ongoing in-service education and training for all nursing and home health aide staff.
- Ensures that staff performance evaluations, employee counseling, and disciplinary action are conducted in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Must be able to function in the role of Director of Clinical Services when required.
