TITLE: Outreach Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Youth Services Department

LOCATION: 145 Stanton Street, New York, NY 10002

PROGRAM: Lower East Side Prep 

REPORTS TO: Program Director 

SALARY: $25 - $30 per hour, 20 hours a week (hours may increase)

DATE: September 2025 – June 2025

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday (10:00am - 6:00pm). Hours may vary based on program needs.

JOB SUMMARY: The outreach coordinator will work closely with the community school director to support the program through partnerships. The outreach coordinator is responsible for: 

  • Bringing partnerships to the school and enhancing the program with suggestions
  • Correspond to emails and phone calls regarding partnerships
  • Organize meetings and events for grant and school administration.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred 
  • Two years or more experience in the field of youth development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Facility to motivate others toward achieving goals
  • Ability to develop alliances with high-risk and difficult-to-engage youth and families
  • Knowledge of community resources and counseling practices with high-risk populations
  • Outstanding collaborative skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the L.E.S.P. program team and community to promote the program within the school.
  • Collaborate with hospitals, clinics, and community service providers to engage families in community events.
  • Create and maintain a thorough written record of assessments, outreach efforts, and all required documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with community resources to establish timely and effective referral processes.
  • Introduce and lead parent workshops that promote parents' and students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with community resources and advocate for families when necessary.
  • Refer participants to a social worker for counseling to support with crisis intervention and safety planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Community School Director.
