Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the store manager, the Assistant ReStore Manager will learn all aspects of the responsibilities for the daily operation of the ReStore. This position will work with the Store Manager in providing guidance, direction, and development to the ReStore team to achieve all revenue, profit, and customer service goals. Participates in ReStore marketing activities and ensures donors, customers and volunteers have an excellent experience when working with the ReStore. As a member of the management team this position will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service, achieving sales goals, and adhering to Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity mission, vision, and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, trains, evaluates, and manages ReStore staff and volunteers in sales, taking inventory, and performing services for customers.
- Conducts annual customer surveys
- Manages the daily operations of the ReStore
- Monitor sales activities to ensure customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods.
- Assists in developing and managing ReStore policies and procedures
- Open and close the ReStore retail store
- Prices and displays products
- Maintains store and equipment
- Procures materials needed to operate the ReStore daily
- Manages inventory procedures
- Oversee store display of items and best utilization of the available space and uses for inventory control system to ensure appropriate turnover of aging stock.
- Coordinate merchandise replenishment and the flow of merchandise from the warehouse to the sales floor.
- Operates equipment necessary to load or unload trucks, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and hand trucks
- Responsible for scheduling staff and volunteers to meet the operational needs of the store.
- Responsible for assigning duties to Community Service Volunteers and Partner Family volunteers.
- Ensures that thorough orientation and safety briefings are conducted
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Required (Minimum):
- 2 years of retail sales experience withing a specialty environment
- Must have reliable transportation
Education and/or Experience Required (Minimum):
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred:
- Associates degree (AA) or equivalent experience from two-year college
- Previous home improvement store management experience is preferred
- General Marketing/Sales background is preferred in retail store management a plus
Language Skills:
- Ability to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate.
- Ability to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.
- Ability to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Work Environment:
The employee’s job activities occur inside and outside of the facility. The employee is not exposed to any adverse environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. The employee is subject to hazards. This includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, high places, and exposure to chemicals.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
