Join our team! As a Rail Loader, you'll be responsible for safely loading and securing vehicles onto rail cars, inspecting for damage, and ensuring quality standards are met. In addition, Shuttle Driver, you'll inspect, drive, and park customer vehicles within the yard, ensuring proper handling and adherence to manufacturer specifications.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm or 3:30pm-12:00am (Weekends as needed)
Pay: $22.00-$26.00/hr depending on daily classification
Rail Loader
Essential Functions, Duties & Tasks:
- Drive vehicles onto rail cars
- Secure vehicles on the rail cars using chocks or chains
- Set bridge plates
- Raise and lower decks
- Set buck ramp
- Store chocks or chains
- Inspect vehicles for damage
- Report damage or mis-bays to lead, supervisor, or manager
- Train new employees
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a positive behavior and conduct in the workplace while acting and communicating with other customers, vendors, co-workers, and management
- Good and regular attendance
- Ability to work in a variety of situations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to adhere to strict quality standards without variance
- Ability to read and interpret SDS manuals
- Have knowledge of hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets, etc.)
Shuttle Driver
Summary of Position
Inspecting, driving and parking of customer vehicles in yard at the Flint - Lake State GM facility.
Essential Functions, Duties and Tasks:
- Ensure new vehicles are driven and parked in assigned areas according to manufacturer's specifications
- Inspects cars to detect damage and to verify presence of accessories listed on invoice
- Move vehicles from staging areas to shipping bay location
- Ensure yard quality standards are maintained
- Train new associates and temporary workers
- Must be able to follow directions and consistently follow procedures
- Must adhere to AAR and safety procedures
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as
- Maintain a positive behavior and conduct in the workplace while acting and communicating with customers, vendors, co-workers and management
- Ability to work in a variety of situations
General Description:
Associates drive vehicles from various storage lots to shipment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions
- Must be able to move 65-80 vehicles per day
- Walk continuously throughout the day
- Associates must be able to work as a team or individually depending on workload
Consolidated Education, Experience and Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- Must have and maintain a valid State Driver's license and a good driving record
- Must be able to drive both standard and automatic transmission vehicles
- Must be able to pass the AWC Safe Driving and Rail Safety tests with an 80% accuracy or better
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must be able to work at heights approximately 15 feet above the ground
- Must be able to work in tight spaces when loading vehicles
- Must have a good sense of balance and have the ability to maintain 3 points of contact
