Your role as a Nurse Manager ICU - FT DAYS

As the Full-Time Nurse Manager of the ICU, you will oversee daily operations to ensure the highest standards of patient care. You can expect to lead a dedicated team of nurses and support staff, coordinating schedules, managing patient flow, and addressing any clinical challenges that arise. Your day will involve conducting rounds, providing mentorship, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing quality improvement initiatives and fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes empathy and customer-centric care. Meetings with other department heads will also be part of your day, as you work to align ICU operations with overall hospital goals.

What matters most

To excel as the Full-Time Nurse Manager of the ICU at Minden Medical Center, a robust skill set is essential. You should possess current RN licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and have a minimum of three years of general nursing experience. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing, along with management experience, is preferred to ensure effective leadership and operational oversight.

You will need to be proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical software utilized for patient management and reporting. Essential certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and basic arrhythmia class, all to be completed within 90 Days of hire; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to excellence will be crucial in driving patient-centered care and fostering a positive team culture.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Current RN licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing with 3 years general nursing experience required;
• BS in nursing
• Management experience preferred.
• Required Certification/Registrations: BLS required
• ACLS
• PALS
• Basic arrhythmia class and De-escalation required within 90 days of hire; NRP preferred.
