Research Assistant in International Policy Analysis (80% - 100%)
The International Policy Analysis unit conducts research and analysis on international issues of relevance to the SNB. The assistantship offers the opportunity to work closely with our experienced economists, to further develop their own analytical skills and to gain insight into the SNB's decision-making process. The internship lasts 13 months. Start date: 1 September 2025 or by arrangement. Our offices are centrally located in Zurich.
Your role
- Working on a research project in the area of international macroeconomics;
- Contributing to other projects on international economic policy issues;
- Collecting, evaluating and visualising data;
- Creating, maintaining and analysing databases, as well as conducting econometric and statistical analyses.
Your profile
- Masters degree or PhD in economics or a related field;
- Very good knowledge of, and research experience in, international macroeconomics;
- Experience in handling micro-level data, sound knowledge of relevant empirical methods and programming languages such as Stata, R, MATLAB or Python;
- Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of German or French;
- Strong intrinsic motivation, team spirit, a high sense of responsibility and the ability to work in an autonomous and results-oriented manner.
