At Fello, we champion the rights of people with disabilities and invest in what matters most: real opportunities, strong relationships, and inclusive, equitable communities. We partner with people with disabilities to provide support services, develop inclusive housing, and create spaces where people feel genuinely connected—not just accommodated.

This role is within Fello’s Self-Directed Services department where we contract with the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) as a Financial Management and Counseling Services (FMCS) provider. In this Medicaid program, participants are the Employer of Record and hire their own workers and choose their services, while Fello handles all administrative tasks including payroll and bill payment.

The Budget Reviewer supports the review and processing of self-directed budget sheets and related budget documentation to ensure regulatory and programmatic compliance for self-directed participants served by Fello. Under the direction of the Budget Manager, the Budget Reviewer facilitates communication between a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring an interdisciplinary approach to programmatic compliance and financial documentation. The Budget Reviewer also assists with special projects related to budgets, budget modifications, and financial reporting based on the needs of the department.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, accuracy in financial documentation, and the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements. They bring excellent communication skills to work effectively with participants, family members, and agency partners. They are problem-solvers who can develop quick and effective solutions, maintain collaborative professional relationships, and balance multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. A commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and fostering positive community connections is essential.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in budget review, accounting, financial compliance, or a related administrative role. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
