The Role

We are seeking a seasoned financial leader to oversee accounting operations for our AI/ML division. This highly visible role is responsible for monthly close, compliance, revenue recognition, budgeting, forecasting, and delivering strategic insights to executive leadership. The ideal candidate combines deep technical accounting expertise with a business-partner mindset, supporting innovation and growth in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. 

What you’ll do: 

• Lead the monthly financial close and reporting process for the AI/ML division, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606 (SaaS), including reviewing and interpreting revenue contracts to ensure proper recognition. 
• Implement and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and governance best practices. 
• Prepare and present clear, executive-ready management reports for senior leadership  
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; translate findings into actionable recommendations for business leaders. 
• Partner with product, engineering, and legal teams to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and operational planning. 
• Oversee ERP systems and data analytics/reporting tools (Palantir preferred) to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable insights. 
• Support external and internal audits; ensure alignment with US GAAP and internal policies. 

Requirements

• CPA and 8–10 years of progressive financial experience, including direct oversight of multi-entity operations in a SaaS environment. 
• Strong SaaS accounting background with deep ASC 606 expertise and proven ability to read and interpret revenue contracts. 
• Proven ability to implement accounting policies, strengthen internal controls, and prioritize in a high-growth environment. 
• Experience preparing management reports for executive and board-level stakeholders. 
• Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills. 
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead cross-functional collaboration. 
• Proficient in ERP systems and data analytics/reporting tools (Palantir preferred). 
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline. 

Benefits

This in an onsite position based at our Santa Monica, CA offices.

The expected base pay for this position is $200,000-$225,000. A discretionary bonus will be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
