Lebermuth Company is currently looking for a QC Lab Technician I to join our QC Lab team. Summary:

Assist with quality control functions and administrative duties to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality control laboratory.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducts calibration checks on lab instruments to ensure accurate results for QC evaluation and customer reporting.
  • Verify documentation in Trace Gains for any incoming materials and coordinate with Purchasing for any missing information.
  • Performs quality checks on incoming materials and manufactured materials, comparing them to product specifications. Ensuring the product is safe for production and distribution to customers. 
  • Coordinate with Shipping & Receiving to ensure proper documentation and address and product and/or delivery concerns.
  • Maintain retain program to comply with SQF/GMP regulations.
  • Re-test materials nearing or at expiration to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Assist with testing customer returns and provide guidance for evaluation/resolution
  • Assist with customer recertifications of oils.
  • Assist the GC sample prepping/loading to ensure lab operations continue smoothly and efficiently. 
  • Promotes a safe food culture by maintaining a clean and organized workspace, assisting with cleaning and sanitation throughout the Lab, and accurately completing Lebermuth required paperwork (i.e., equipment logs, regulatory documentation) to ensure the safe production and shipment of quality food products.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or science related field is preferred. 

Experience: 0-2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

Certifications: N/A

Functional Skills: Proficient in applying mathematical concepts and solving practical problems. Capable of interpreting various instructions and committed to precision work with strong attention to detail. Well organized, effective at documentation, able to multi-task, and exercise sound judgement.

Technology Aptitude/Skills: Working knowledge of computer and keyboard functions, and of manufacturing, inventory control and order processing software.

Language Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret various professional and technical documents. Capable of writing professional correspondence and effectively presenting information and responding to questions.  

Leadership/Behaviors Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, give and receive feedback, and follow safety regulations.

Physical and Sensory Demands / Environmental Conditions / Equipment Used:

  • Use of standard office and laboratory equipment.
  • Frequent use of hand tools to perform maintenance and/or repairs on equipment.
  • Daily operation of laboratory equipment for testing samples. 
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for operating equipment and writing/
  • Operate keyboard and view computer screen frequently. 
  • Ability to read, interpret, and respond to work orders and processes.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Frequent physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, and lifting. 
  • Use of vision and organoleptic abilities for evaluating samples.
  • Handling raw materials and working in a lab environment with fluctuating noise levels.
  • Wearing appropriate PPE (person Protective Equipment)
  • Regular and occasional lifting of various weights
  • Work schedule is generally 8-5pm, but may vary week-to-week to ensure business and customer needs are met
