The Opportunity

We’re looking for a commercially astute and analytically driven Commercial Analyst to join our Power Strategy, Growth and Optimisation team. This role plays a key part in optimising asset performance, supporting commercial decision-making, and driving value across our generation portfolio.

You’ll play a critical role in driving commercial performance through deep analysis, forecasting, and strategic recommendations. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to uncover opportunities, optimise pricing and asset lifecycle value, and support key business initiatives with robust financial modelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse asset performance, market dynamics, and commercial outcomes to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Develop financial models and business cases for asset optimisation, maintenance strategies, and investment opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and scenario modelling to inform investment and operational decisions.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare high-impact presentations and reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with asset operations, engineering, commercial and business development teams to identify and evaluate optimisation opportunities.

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial, financial, or strategic analysis roles.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with experience in thermal generation, energy, or asset-intensive industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel and data visualisation capabilities (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience with financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and present to senior stakeholders.
  • A degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
