The Vice President, Client Growth and Strategic Partnerships must be a balanced left- and right-brain thinker who understands how to strategize, plan, and lead various business growth opportunities in multiple business sectors (NNN single tenant development; QSR; convenience; grocery; etc.). 

The individual will be responsible for creating the architecture of the new business vision and strategy. The successful candidate must be able to identify emerging channels, build upon existing relationships, and identify emerging opportunities and move these opportunities to fruition. Therefore, this individual must understand both the art and science of building relationships and must be able to turn relationships into realized business projects. 

Vice President, Client Growth and Strategic Partnerships is expected to be a part of the team working to take the business to the next level and grow it through re-strategizing, developing expansion possibilities, partnering with internal leadership and key stakeholders to ensure a unified effort, and leading the expansion of the total business. They will assist in the development and implementation of a marketing strategy for the company, help to align all business development and marketing messages across all channels, and ultimately present potential new clients with a singular experience, gaining market share and maximizing development opportunities, while driving profitable revenue generating business for Skilken Gold.

Vice President, Client Growth and Strategic Partnerships must have demonstrated experience building, managing, and developing a Business Development function with a disciplined vision for the total business.  The individual must have experience not only building a team but focusing that team on key initiatives and producing results. They must be able to mobilize all internal and external stakeholders around a common vision and ensure that everyone operates as a cohesive unit with clear accountabilities, at times working at 30,000 feet and always attending to the details of all team efforts. Further, this individual must build strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring that supervisors and peers are aligned and are kept informed on all key goals and associated metrics. 

     POSITION DESCRIPTION:
    Strategize, plan, and grow the Skilken Gold real estate development business, maximizing client development and creating a consistent flow of new clients and new projects;
    Design and manage the Business Development function both from a strategic and tactical perspective;
    With the CEO, President, and other key leadership partners, build out the total company Business Development and growth strategy;
    Take accountability for developing and nurturing partnerships with new and potential customers; in conjunction with the VP Real Estate, VP Development & Construction, and their associated teams;
    Develop the look, feel, messaging, and brand experience through all channels of the Business Development process; Create and maintain a marketing plan to drive awareness of Skilken Gold and build the overall business profile in the industry, clients, and markets we serve.
    Serve as a thought leader and partner to key internal partners and stakeholders to ensure the best practice experiences are developed and leveraged within all channels to attract new clients and projects.
    Detailed understanding or the Skilken Gold business model, service offering, pricing and delivery methods.
    General knowledge of the full life cycle of a real estate project, including site selection, entitlements & acquisition, permitting, construction and disposition.
    Maintain active and robust research on industry specific macro growth trends for target clients, products and market.
    Understand the dynamics within each market and with each potential client and project;
    Determine analytics and develop all reporting metrics;
    Create a dashboard for accurate and up-to-date weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual metrics and consistently update leadership and staff.
    With the VP Real Estate and VP Development & Construction, develop a hand-off process to ensure smooth movement of clients from Business Development and marketing to successful project execution.

     KEY PRIORITIES:

Management: 
    Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to bring new revenue and meet or exceed all revenue and profitability growth goals;
    Sustain the focus on new business development and hold the organization accountable to provide support and resources as needed;
    Develop audit tools to assess the success and productivity of the Business Development process and work cross-functionally with an eye to improving efficiency;
    Consistently assess successes and failures and adapt actions as needed.

Expand Revenue Channels and Increase Top-Line Revenue:
    Engage existing clients and source new clients in current active markets;
    Expand into new markets that strategically fit both our current and future business model in alignment with the Long-Range Plan (LRP).
    Expand into new business lines that are complimentary and strategically leverage existing core business in alignment with the LRP.

Leadership:
    Identify Business Development function needs and opportunities;
    Ensure Skilken Gold is active and properly represented across the industry, markets and target clients through participation in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and other similar organizations nationally, regionally and locally.
    Model the company culture in all activities;
    Enhance the Skilken Gold customer-centric culture.

Create a Business Development Culture:
    Close deals more effectively; developing the Business Development & Customer Engagement process to include predevelopment, market analysis, site selection, acquisition and disposition.
    Ensure that the Business Development function has the tools needed to succeed;
    Utilize data to optimize Business Development performance and drive towards converting the most qualified and most productive prospects into revenue producing business.

Build and Nurture the Client Engagement Experience:
    Ensure that the client engagement experience continues to set Skilken Gold apart from the competition;
    Ensure that client engagement is always at the forefront; 
    Act as the voice of the client in internal meetings and discussions.
     QUALIFICATIONS:

The Vice President, Client Growth and Strategic Partnerships must have Business Development experience pertinent to the selling of services. Further, the individual must have demonstrated experience of building relationships with clients as well as demonstrated connections for the purpose of building a sustainable growth business. The successful candidate will create and operate in a results-driven culture and must understand how to work in a complex and growing organization that operates a multi-channel platform. The individual must have an entrepreneurial mindset and documented success developing an idea and launching it into a successful and sustainable revenue stream. 

Specifically, they must possess the following:
    A minimum of 10+ years of proven Business Development experience is required.
    Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, hands-on environment.
    The ability to build strong partnerships, internally and externally including their key cross-functional partners.
    Ability to work with the leadership of the company to continue to define the role;
    A track record of fostering a Business Development culture within this entrepreneurial minded, always evolving organization.
    A track record of not only building a strategy but bringing it to life.
    Proven track record of Business Development leadership with a track record of profitable growth.
    Understand the market and trends; continuously looking for growth markets/opportunities;
    Understand that relationships are at the core of what the company does and drives the business; 
    High touch experience in developing lasting relationships, this is core to their business and what their company values;
    Demonstrated business-to-business orientation in multiple business sectors; experience managing multiple external relationships and business channels;
    Has built a data-driven Business Development function;
