SUMMARY
Administers policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
- Promotes the company culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company.
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions.
- Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Generates and maintains records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, attendance, disciplinary notices and terminations.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administers payroll to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Administers benefits programs such as vacation pay, bereavement leave, sick leave, leave of absence, work clothes and employee assistance program.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Posts memos on job vacancies.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
