Primary Purpose
Provides key support in executing the Sempra Infrastructure fleet vehicle program. Handles the administrative duties related to the company vehicle fleet and enforcement of fleet policy / procedures to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical use of company owned or leased vehicles. Collaborates closely with operations, projects office, field personnel, shared services functional areas, and other internal stakeholders. In addition, there will be significant interaction with fleet suppliers and service providers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Fleet Asset Manager in managing the lifecycle of the vehicles from acquisition to disposal; and provides analytics and analysis to assist in making informed data-based decisions related to fleet transactions. Maintains advanced working knowledge of existing technology systems, company processes, trends, and inter-departmental dependencies necessary for fleet management operations.
- Collaborates closely with business leaders across divisions to determine the need for vehicle acquisition including type, use, and location. Oversees and manages vehicle replacement criteria, lease schedules, and renewals in coordination with the fleet management company. Bids, negotiates and awards contracts as per the company’s purchasing policy/procedures. Generates reports for fleet management KPI tracking and analysis. Identifies cost savings or avoidance opportunities.
- Maintains accurate inventory and fleet driver assignment data in the fleet management vendor platform. Coordinates fuel card administration – manage new requests, replacements, and field support.
- Assists in driver scorecard and motor vehicle records management. Identifies opportunities to educate drivers on safe driving habits and best practices.
- Maintains supplier and service provider relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
