Must be eligible for a valid Maine DOE ELL endorsement.
Prior teaching experience preferred.

Participates in professional development in order to advance the vision and mission of the district.
Regular participation on school and/or district committees is strongly encouraged.
Regularly utilizes student data to inform instruction.
Maintains technological proficiency for purposes of instruction, reporting and communicating.
Varies instructional techniques to address individual learning styles.
Facilitates critical thinking, problem solving and creativity skills.
Advances the vision, the mission and school improvement efforts of the school district.
Participates in parent conferences, open houses, and other required school events based on the responsibilities of the assigned position.
Shows evidence of understanding and applying language acquisition with emphasis on content vocabulary.
Shows evidence of sensitivity to cultural backgrounds and customs.
Coordinates identification of ELL students based on the district’s LAU plan.

Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
Certification/License:
Must be eligible to obtain a valid Maine DOE ELL endorsement - provisional certification may be possible for those certified for foreign language, English, or other certifications.
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Education:
Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Masters Degree in related area preferred.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
