We are looking for a General Laborer to join our reload team in Sumas.

As general labourer, you will:

• Assist with general yard clean up/maintenance.  
• Assist operators with loading and unloading railcars of steel and lumber.  
• Assist with cleaning of equipment, cutting steel banding for package securement, monitoring disposal of items, and railcar securement.  
• Work outside in the yard in all weather conditions.
• Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements.  
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew.  
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.  

• Ability to climb ladders, throw rail cables, tie down railcars, general yard work and maintenance, and lift 50lbs
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
• Comfortable working with heights, up to 25ft, using safety harness and lanyard
• Previous general labourer experience is an asset
• Forklift operation is an asset
• Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
