Full-Time Campus Security Officer Job Description
Position: Campus Security Officer
Classification: Non-exempt, Hourly
Hours per week: 40: 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, overtime must be approved
Shift Schedule: 4:00pm - 12:00am (days to be determined with the Director of Security)

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required, Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- 2-5 years’ experience as a security officer for a school, church, or other non-profit organization
- Certified and trained Level III and/or Level IV PPO in State of Texas preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with relevant technology
- Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
Position Summary:
The Campus Security Officer is primarily responsible for providing a security presence and acting as a first line of defense for the campus of The Brook Hill School. This position reports directly to the Director of Security and Campus Safety and is a member of the security team of the School. The primary responsibility of the Campus Security Officer is to assist and support the Director of Security and Campus Safety in maintaining a secure and orderly campus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Access Control
- Monitor access points to the school campus and verify the identity of students, staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Enforce entry and exit procedures and ensure compliance with access policies.
- Campus Patrol
- Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible security presence.
- Inspect campus facilities to identify and report safety hazards and security concerns.
- Provide a visible presence during pick up and drop off times, or other high traffic times during the school day at the appropriate campus as determined by the Director of Security and Campus Safety or the CFO/COO.
- Emergency Response
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
- Assist in the execution of emergency response plans, including evacuations and lockdowns.
- Safety Escorts
- Provide safety escorts for students, staff, and visitors as requested, particularly during evening or special events as needed.
- Ensure the safe arrival and departure of individuals from the campus.
- Communication
- Maintain effective communication with the Director of Security and Campus Safety and other security personnel.
- Report all security incidents, unusual activities, or violations to the appropriate authorities.
- Visitor Management
- Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they sign in, obtain visitor badges, and follow campus guidelines.
- Monitor visitor activities and report any suspicious behavior.
- Maintain presence at front security guard house and process visitors through appropriate systems from there.
- Crowd Control
- Assist in maintaining order and security during special events, sports games, and other gatherings on campus as needed
- Ensure spectators adhere to school policies and maintain a safe and respectful atmosphere. Improve leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities as needed
