The Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) is a public agency that provides academic services and enrichment opportunities for students, teachers and the community, as well as critical business services for school districts. NCOE partners with the five public school districts in Napa County on a variety of programs and issues. NCOE also operates numerous federal and state grants including a robust AmeriCorps program and state-wide projects supporting Special Education students. Job Summary
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Working within a team of professionals, the Child Development teacher is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate programming for infants and young children. This includes creating and implementing both short- and long-term lesson plans, and collaborating effectively with colleagues in team or group settings. The teacher communicates clearly, professionally, and appropriately through both verbal and non-verbal means, and demonstrates strong written communication skills. Responsibilities also include supervising and supporting the training of associate teachers and assistants, as well as actively participating in ongoing professional development. The teacher must have a solid understanding of policies, regulations, and procedures related to California Title 5 and Title 22, along with other child development program standards. Additional responsibilities include working with families from diverse backgrounds, applying universal health precautions in a child development environment, and supporting the inclusion of children receiving special education services.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Requires a Child Development Permit and two (2) year experience as a teacher.
• Applicants must hold or qualify to hold a Child Development Teacher Permit and must have a minimum of 24 semester units of early childhood/child development/Infant Toddler. Also including at least one course in each of the following core areas: Child/Human Growth and Development; Child, Family and Community, or Child and Family Relations; programs/curriculum plus 16 units of general education.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification cards.
• English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
