QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold appropriate NJ certification;
Valid New Jersey School Counselor Endorsement.
Must be knowledgeable about HIB laws and be able to conduct investigations.
Must possess strong communication; managerial and leadership skills;
Demonstrated knowledge of the laws and legal requirements surrounding the responsibilities of counseling;
Establish high standards and expectations for all students for academic performance and responsibility for behavior.
Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate a comprehensive student assistance program, including but not limited to: staff development re: substance abuse, curriculum development and revision, coordinated counseling, intervention, mental health and treatment services, identify possibly use of controlled dangerous substances, and conduct HIBs.
Provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive climate.Plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate comprehensive parent education and outreach programs following State and District guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a diverse school community;
Broad knowledge of theories of individual and group counseling, and career educational information placement Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities;
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of English by communicating with reasonable clarity, conciseness, and precision in both speaking and writing;
Must be reliable and of good moral character;

Salary: Ranges from $37,578.00 - 64,095.00 (60% of salary per step on guide)
