We have an immediate need for full-time HVAC Technician to service a series of United Group’s professionally managed multi-family housing communities located in Watertown, NY.
The responsibilities that are listed below are not all inclusive. However, they are indicative of the type of responsibilities normally performed by the HVAC Technician:
Technical Operations + Maintenance
- Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs
- Inspects HVAC systems and their components (i.e. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending preventative maintenance
- Performs routine preventative maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of HVAC systems
- Installs heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities
- Fabricates equipment parts for the purpose of meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts
- Responds to emergency situations during or after work hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
Planning + Communication
- Coordinates with assigned personnel for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently
- Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action, and/or complying with building safety regulations
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training, etc. assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job function
Resource + Safety Management
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete necessary installation and/or repair
- Actively participates in and follows the safety and health programs
Work Environment + Physical Demands
- May be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments, which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects
- May be exposed to substances such as – paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, which may have various odors that may be considered irritants
- Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, transferring, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
- Able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted, for prolonged periods of time
- Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals to perform essential functions
Job Overview + Requirements
- Job Type: HVAC Technician; Hourly/Non – Exempt $19/per hour
- Work Hours: Full Time; Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm; Weekend on-call shifts as needed
- Physical Requirements: standing, kneeling, moderate lifting, and carrying
- Required Education: Minimum High School diploma
- Required Experience: Minimum 3 years of full-time HVAC maintenance/technician experience.
- Qualities: Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level; Ability to solve problems involving maintenance, safety, and challenging situations. Willingness to perform all assigned tasks with good work and safety habits.
